How to keep your "Haddasim and Aravot" Fresh during Sukkot:
a) Wet some paper towels and squeeze the excess water out of the towels.
b) Wrap the Haddasim and Aravot in the moist paper towels and place them inside a piece of tinfoil.
c) Wrap the tinfoil closed and place it inside the fridge.
d) On Yom Tov, take out the Haddasim and Aravot and place them on the Lulav.
e) Before leaving for Shul remember to replace the empty moist towel inside the tinfoil and put it back into the fridge. This way the towel will remain wet for reuse.
f) When you return from Shul take the Haddasim and Aravot and wrap them back into the towel and tinfoil and put them back into the fridge.
This process will help you retain the freshness of the Haddasim and Aravot throughout Yom Tov.
Hag Sameach,
Elazar Muskin
Please note: This year, since the first day is Shabbat, we only begin using the Arba Minim on Sunday morning. |
