Daf Yomi Sponsorship

Sponsor a Week of Daf Yomi Learning

As part of our Shul's expanding adult education we offer our membership the opportunity to sponsor a week of Daf Yomi learning for $180. Each sponsor (or multiple sponsors) is be posted on the sponsorship board located in the Shul's front lobby, and is listed in the weekly Shul announcement. Please call the Shul office (310-273-6954) or respond to this email, to choose the week you wish to sponsor. This is a wonderful way to commemorate a Yarzheit, celebrate a Simha or just support Torah learning in our Shul.

Dear Shomrai Members,
Every one of our classes has decorated beautiful, colorful Purim cards. The
children have worked very hard on creating, in their imaginative ways,
different Purim related scenes and characters.
We are selling the Purim Cards in color on card stock. They will come with
colorful envelopes. There is text both inside and on the back. Samples of the cards will be displayed at YISE.

? Mixed packages of 12 or 20 cards are available. Each package
consists of various cards drawn by different children.
? The actual card size is approximately 5 inches by 4 inches
? Special requests for specific cards can be ordered. Please call the
school with this request.

Sponsors will be asked to donate $0.36, $0.50, $0.72, or $1.00 per point scored in the game in support of Beit Halochem or you can sponsor the game by donating a fixed amount.

Beit Halochem was established in 1949 to provide rehabilitation and assistance to the 6,000 veterans who were injured in Israel’s War of Independence. Unfortunately, the membership in this organization has grown to over 50,000 disabled heroes wounded during their active or reserve services or through acts of terror. Beit Halochem rehab centers provide a vast range of sports and cultural activities suited to the members’ individual disabilities. Each center also offers a wide choice of social and creative activities for members and their families. The athletes produced by Beit Halochem are serious competitors in the world arena often winning medals at the Paralympics.

Become a sponsor of the game, cheer your team to victory, be on one of the teams, and support the heroes of Beit Halochem.

Young Israel of West Rogers Park

We will be holding a special meeting focusing on launching new fundraising efforts for the shul this coming SUNDAY NOVEMBER 22nd at 8:00 pm. We have already received several emails/phone calls with some positive ideas for projects. We again ask that people wishing to participate in the meeting forward me by email their fundraising ideas (the more detailed the better) so that we can put them on the meeting agenda. We will briefly present several of the ideas submitted and we will together pick a couple to begin working on immediately. The meeting will be limited to one hour so we ask that you submit your thoughts in advance of the meeting so we can hit the ground running.
