FROM HAVEN TO HOME – JEWISH LIFE IN AMERICA SUNDAY, JULY 19, 2009 Tour starts at 1:15 PM
AT THE DETROIT HISTORICAL MUSEUM 5410 Woodward Avenue, Detroit
This touring exhibition chronicles and brings to life the 350 years of Jewish life in the US, focusing on America as “Haven” - the Jewish immigrant’s refuge from persecution in countries abroad – to America as “Home”, the creation of Jewish communities in the United States.
All permanent and traveling exhibits of the Museum will be open to us all afternoon including an authentic auto assembly line. This event is appropriate for all ages. Younger children will be able to enjoy the Streets of Old Detroit.
Fees are $4 per person (museum admittance, parking and docent fee). Children under age 4 are free. The Museum will provide guides trained specifically for this exhibit – one guide for every 12 – 15 attendees. We need your reservation so that we can have adequate docent coverage.
