Welcome letter from Provost of Bellevue University Greetings! Bellevue University is proud to announce that an agreement has been reached between Bellevue University and Young Israel Educational Programs, Inc., an affiliate of the National Council of Young Israel. Beginning in August, a Master of Arts in Leadership program will bring together faculty from Bellevue's College of Professional Studies and master's candidates, who have undergraduate degrees from recognized secular universities or in Talmudic/Rabbinic Law from accredited Rabbinic schools, in a blended cohort. This presents a terrific opportunity for the studens, the Jewish community, and Bellevue University. Bellevue University, a private non-profit institution in Bellevue, Nebraska, is a national leader in graduate and undergraduate degree programs. We started a small college in 1966 and became a university in 1994 serving students all over the world using our innovative distributed learning system. Since its founding in 1966, we have experienced continuous growth in student enrollment and have cutting-edge approaches to higher education, and we are well on our way to reaching our goal of servicing 10,000 students in 2006. In the mid 1990's, we were one of the first U.S. colleges to offer online degree programs. We are proud of the fact that Bellevue University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCACS), and was selected to participate in prototyping the Academic Quality Improvement Project, its innovative approach to the accreditation process. The North Central Association is one of the six accreditation bodies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. We have been approved to offer 42 bachelors and 11 masters degrees. We have established relationships with organizations from all types and sizes of industries, which includes several Fortune 100 companies. Hawkins, Ph.D. Welcome letter from Young Israel Educational Programs, Inc. Dear Friends, Thank you for your interest in the Masters Degree Program. We believe that this program will be of great benefit to the community at large and to many individuals. We hope that you will be one of those individuals. It is that concern for the Klal that motivates the activities of the National Council of Young Israel and its affiliate, Young Israel Educational Programs, Inc. I have spoken to many Rabbinic and community leaders who have encouraged us to proceed with this Masters Program. The program has been advertised in the National Council of Young Viewpoint Magazine, the Jewish Observer, and Hamodia, Yaated and Jewish Press Newspapers. I thank the board of directors and my colleagues at National Council of Young Israel for their continued support. The uniqueness of this program is that Bellevue University of Omaha, Nebraska will accept a Bachelor of Talmudic/Rabbinic Law from an accredited Rabbinic school in the United States (and, under certain conditions, in Israel) as well as a degree from an accredited secular school. In addition, the program has been geared to optimize participation from individuals wherever they may reside and work, United States, Canada, Israel, and beyond. The on-site requirements are minimal, and are set in a proper and modest environment with the balance of the program online within the private confines of one’s home and according to his or her own schedule. These degrees are each quality programs sponsored by a fully accredited school. I hope that your degree will open up new doors in your professional careers and/or advance your current positions.
